How to store your wedding in a bedroom

Our spare room is quite depressing at the moment. It’s absolutely rammed with stuff for our wedding that should have been used in March 2020. Not only that, but we were supplying our own alcohol for the wedding and have A LOT OF BOTTLES!

Some of our wedding stuff has expiry dates, which we’re bound to lose our money on. But the rest of the bits and bobs will need lots of TLC to make it last to our new wedding date.

Dresses

These are probably the most complicated and you should ask your dress boutique for advice. But generally the guides say to store your dress in acid free tissue paper in a storage box OR hung up off the floor in a dress bag. Either way you’re going to want to make sure it’s out of the way of prying eyes, not in direct sunlight and preferably in a cool place.

Stationery

Best bet is to keep these flat, in a cool dry place. Wrap bigger items such as welcome signs or table plans in bubble wrap to keep them in tip top condition for your big day and then hide them out of the way somewhere so they don’t get disturbed.

Favours

If they’re edible then you’re likely going to have to eat them…shame 🙂 They wont last until your new day, unless you’ve postponed until super soon. If they keep then wrap them up tightly and hide away somewhere, just don’t forget where you put them

Confetti

Some confetti degrades with time. We have dried petals and I’m really hoping they’ll last! If not, we will have to get everyone to destroy their rose bushes again this summer!

Centrepieces, shoes, jewellery, decor and accessories…the list is truly endless…

Again, best to keep this in acid free tissue paper and the storage boxes they arrive in, if you have them! However, if not (like me) we’ve tried to keep them hidden away, packaged up as best we can for now!

I’m going to have to go through all of our stuff soon-ish, but for now I just can’t face it.

What have you done with all of your items?

Love Mrs M-to-be x
